Context
Our modern digital society makes handling our finances easier than ever, but there is still no perfect all-in-one app that allows us to invest, manage our finances, serves as our bank, and let's us send and receive money instantly. Imagine if Robinhood, Mint, and Venmo all merged into an intuitive platform.
Goal
The Money Maker App is designed to be a single platform in which people can manage their finances, invest their money, and send & receive payments.
How it Works (try it)
I designed the app to minimize the overwhelming complexity of financial information and numbers, and package that information into a mobile screen in which anyone with a high school education can understand.
Each screen serves a unique purpose in helping the user understand specific information related to their money that is tied up in a certain way. The amount of information a bank statement or brokerage account can be very overwhelming, which is every category of information has its own label and drop down arrow to allow the user to hide that section at will.
The search screen allows the user to find information on any stock or cryptocurrency, while also showing them any of their past or current trades related to that stock or cryptocurrency. A user can simply add the stock or cryptocurrency to their main watchlist, or press the "trade" button to open or close a position.
The watchlist screen acts as a hub for all stocks and cryptocurrencies that the user wants to follow on a daily basis. This hub will constantly refresh to show the latest prices of all followed assets.
The investment screen makes it clear about what the value of the user's investment account is, how much cash they have available to trade, and what assets they already own. They can simply click on any stock, option, or cryptocurrency that they own to see more details about that asset. Since this screen only shows what the user already owns, it will prevent more mistakes and confusion for the user.
At any given moment, the user can click on the trading icon to trade a stock, option or cryptocurrency. Once again, this was designed to make trading as clear and transparent as possible. The user can select all of the aspects of the trade, such as what order type they want, how many they want to buy/sell, and how long they want the order to stay active. Level II data is also built into the trading screen so that users can see a live feed of bids and asks, giving them all of the tools needed to make the best investment decisions.
The accounts icon gives the user a live calculation of all assets, an easy to understand graph showing their money in and out flows, and instant management of all cash and credit accounts. Users can transfer money between accounts and investments, use the built in Zelle, and/or pay bills all within the same app. Since the information is organized clearly and simply, the user will always have the most accurate picture of what their financial situation is like.
